Smart Pages, Microsoft’s free web design service, is available to all small and medium-sized businesses in the United States, the company said Wednesday. Microsoft has also added new features to the service, including video inclusion, post suggestions, integration with Bing Maps and a new Social Posts sharing. Why do we care? Too many SMBs work with social media profiles or local listings as their only online presence. Having your own website opens up more opportunities to connect with potential customers and drive traffic online and in-store. Now that this service can be used more and more, many business owners can use it to build a free basic website. The new features. Microsoft is releasing the following features for Smart Pages this month:Video embeds-Business owners can embed YouTube or Vimeo videos on their Smart Pages. Suggestions in Articles-The Smart Page will generate written suggestions to help business owners fill in more of their business profiles. Adding Bing Maps - Bing maps of your business location can be added to the Smart Page. Social post sharing - This interface section has been updated to allow business owners to post updates without having to post them on Facebook first. So far, companies interested in the service have had to sign up for a closed beta.
